After a busy few months, I’m now taking a little break from commissions so…I’ve had time to play video games!
Pikmin - Who Knew? (a lucky few)
I started playing Pikmin again for the first time since moving flat and getting a bigger TV (it looks stunning on a large screen), and completed it a couple days ago. Before anyone feels the need to point it out, I’m well aware of how terrible my score is!
I chose Pikmin 3 as my free game with the Mario Kart promotion a few months back, not expecting it to be as enjoyable as it is, as I’m not too keen on time limits and other “strategy” type games.
But I found myself spending more time playing this than anything else, even Mario Kart and 3D World. It’s just such a beautiful game. I usually find realistic graphics quite boring and unimaginative, but the way the Pikmin world is constructed, it just pulls me right in.
I’ve not had a go at Bingo Battle, but the Missions are really fun, though quite difficult…I’ve not been able to get better than bronze on most of the stages.
This time last year I didn’t understand why there was so much focus on Pikmin 3 at E3 2012(?), why it was being described by some as a “system seller” (it isn’t, but only due to lack of common awareness of the series), but now I totally understand. If Nintendo announced a Wii U 2 and the only game for it was Pikmin 4, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
I own Pikmin for the gamecube but I’ve never played it, so that’ll be tackled soon, and I’ll need to pick up Pikmin 2 at some point too.
Other stuff I’ve been playing
I’ve had a couple friends visiting a few times, so we’ve been playing Nintendo Land, mainly Sweet Day and Ghost Mansion, and Nes Remix 2. Much hilarity was had and they’re now talking about buying a Wii U. Result!
I finished Kororinpa for the Wii which is a delight of a game, and am gonna keep an eye out for its sequel. If you don’t know what Kororinpa is, it’s kinda like Super Monkey Ball but better and cuter.
All this focus on the Wii U has left my 3DS unmoved from its charging cradle, but now that it’s October, I want to revisit Animal Crossing for the Halloween stuff. My boyfriend bought Fantasy Life and seems to be really be enjoying it so I might pick that up when I have the money.
That’s about it!

I’m a papercraft builder and maker, and I’m a photographer so I thought it was a cool idea to make a Pictobox papercraft and take that picture for y Facebook page, papercraft tumblr, and my deviantART. ^^

—The Original Legend—

A short series of images depicting the adventures of Link in his first outing on the NES, from the very beginning up to the boss of the first dungeon. I’m going to be moving on to a few other things in the coming weeks..not least my annual Mad Monster Month October project..but I would love to return to this and illustrate the rest of the game. I feel like the little things I’ve learned whilst producing this artwork in particular have been most beneficial and that the result is that my quality have moved to the next level.

beautiful!
